{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}

~Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life with Like Mother, Like Daughter~

{Pretty}

The daisies are just beginning to make an appearance again, and this makes me so very happy. I’ve had to forego my regular walks of late due to rather unfriendly seasonal allergies, but I made the trek down to the end of the driveway with Katie today to show her the pretty white flowers, and noticed some other wildflowers along the way. I admit to being ignorant to the names of the other blooms – we didn’t have such things in the desert where I grew up – but I do appreciate their beauty.

Most weeks, the two people I love most in the world take the trash out together. (Forgive the poor quality of this shot; I was scrambling to get my camera out in time, and I wasn’t quite fast enough).

{Funny}

Katie and I spent some time looking at the llamas on our property recently. She thinks they’re pretty funny. I’m inclined to agree.

While plenty of “real” moments happen around here on a regular basis, I failed to capture any of them in a photograph this week. There are fingerprints on my mirrors. Katie has discovered her own method of getting around, and in so doing, has found the toilet brush and the cat food and the dog’s water and electrical outlets, among other things, and has also revealed how very dirty my floor is in the process. Perhaps most real, however, is the fact that I’ve been making poor choices with my time recently, not really living up to the title of this blog, and I am actively trying to change that. {Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real} – the practice of noticing these moments in my everyday life – is instrumental in that process, and I am grateful for that.

Those are the {pretty, happy, funny, real} moments around here this week.How about you? Head on over to Like Mother, Like Daughter or leave a comment here and share the contentment you captured this week!
