Ten Years: A Photo Essay

Ten years ago today, these two kids vowed to forsake all others, to love each other without reservation, to honor and respect each other, to comfort each other in times of distress, and to encourage each other to further develop God’s gifts, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death did they part.

Ten years.

A lot can happen in ten years. A lot has happened in ten years.

They’ve walked through life together, these ten years. They’ve traveled together,

seeing some of the best that man

and nature have to offer.

(And, when they’re being honest, also some of the strangest that nature has to offer, too).

But all of their traveling pales in comparison to the greatest adventure they’ve embarked on thus far.

They’ve bought one motorcycle,

two cars,

and three houses,

and they worked hard to make one of those houses a home.

Of course, it hasn’t always been easy sailing. They’ve said goodbye to people they loved dearly,

and faced heartbreaking situations that challenged their faith.

But, while they’ve grieved, they’ve also celebrated.

Of course, no blog post can encapsulate ten years. No photo essay can demonstrate the range of friends, the range of experiences, the range of life lived. But know this: their life is good, and it is full.

When asked in church this past Sunday whether it felt like it had been ten years, he responded, “It feels like it’s been a moment, and it feels like it’s been a lifetime.”

Which about sums it up. A moment, and a lifetime.

I’m so glad I found you, my love. Here’s to decades more.

Beautifully said Jenn! Life does only get better when you experience all of life, it’s joys and sorrows alongside Jesus and those you love!
